HOW MUCH DO THE GAMES COST?

Tournament costs vary depending on the tournament that we join. They can very between $35.00 and $75.00. Typically, out of state tournaments cost more.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE TOURNAMENT FEE?

The tournament fee only includes the games and the umpire fees. Hotel accommodations, entry, food, and drinks are not included. We do try to grill at the longer tournaments. When we do, we ask that every family to contribute something to the cookout.

WHAT KIND OF TRAINING DO THE COACHES HAVE?

Our coaches have played all the way through college themselves and have a combined 25 years of coaching experience in the game. Colleges include Citrus College, Mt. Sac, and St. Mary's University. Not only baseball experience, but also physically training and conditioning training experience through Citrus College. The Manager herself has played softball for 12 years including College Softball and has coached for 12 years Boys and Girls. Our staff is well rounded and provide a great coaching experience to these ball players.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ON THE TEAM ROSTER?

Our Roster is currently 15 Tournament Players. Being a non-profit organization, we like to help strengthen and develop all kids who want the help. We have players who are here to improve their skills and transition into a travel ball player extending the opportunities to additional Tournament teams here on the SVG Trojans.

HOW DO I TRY OUT?

We are always holding open tryouts. Contact us to find out when you can join us for a practice or 2.

WHEN DO I PAY DUES?

Player dues are due on the first of every month.

WHAT FUNDRAISERS DO YOU HOLD?

We have multiple fundraisers throughout the year. We ask that we have full participation from our players and families. The funds we raise go towards field costs, replacing broken equipment, new uniforms, or for any big baseball events in the future.

DO YOU HOST ANY TEAM EVENTS OR TEAM BONDING?

The SGV Trojans are not just a team, we are a family. We have an annual trunk-or-treat around Halloween, we host an annual potluck feast around Thanksgiving, and a fun Christmas party, with dinner, and a white elephant gift exchange. We love having the players and their families attend.
We also try to have different kinds of team bonding, in the past we have gone to an MLB game as a team, team dinners, laser tag, rock climbing, even go cart racing!

WHAT BRAND BATS DO YOU USE?

The brand of your bat is up to you! Most tournaments require the bats to be USSSA certified. Most players have more than one bat, including a wooden bat. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on a bat. Buying used is always a great option! We are also sponsored by AXE Bats. You can use promo code: SGVTrojans for special pricing!

HOW DO I DONATE?

No donation is too small or too big! We always appreciate all donations. You can click the “Donate Now!” button in the upper right-hand corner. A 501C can be provided upon request for a tax write off.

WHAT KIND OF DONATIONS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We will accept all types of donations. If you are not looking to give a monetary donation, we can always use different kinds of baseball equipment. Baseballs, although pricey, are a great donation since they always seem to disappear. Items to raffle off or auction off are greatly appreciated as well.

HOW DO I SPONSOR THE TEAM?

To sponsor our team, please see the sponsor tab up top. You can click the “send us a text” button and you will be connected to our team Manager.

CAN PARENTS SPONSOR THE TEAM?

Absolutely. We have had family friends, employers of parents, uncles, and even grandparents sponsor us! If you sponsor team jerseys, your logo will be featured on it.

ARE PARENTS REQUIRED TO HELP COACH?

As much as we love parents stepping in and helping us out, the dugout isn’t big enough for a lot of parent volunteers. If you are serious about coaching, please let Coach Alonzo know!

CAN PARENTS HELP THE TEAM IN OTHER WAYS?

Of course!! We love when parents volunteer their time or resources to the team. We can always use an extra hand in getting donations or when we have a fundraising event.

DO PARENTS ALSO RECIEVE A JERSEY?

Any family member is welcome to purchase any jersey that their player has. It shows your support to the team and of course, your player. Please keep in mind that orders usually take about 2 weeks to receive. It is best to place your order when we are sending in a bulk order.
